Connectivity
Stay Connected From the Moment You Land
Roaming charges can hit £10–20/day if you're not prepared. An eSIM activates instantly on your phone before you board — no airport SIM queues, no physical card swap.
Yesim — eSIM for 200+ Countries
Instant activation, covers 200+ countries, plans from ~$4/day. Works on any unlocked iPhone or Android with eSIM support. Buy before you fly — it starts working the moment you arrive.

Does your phone support eSIM? Most phones from 2019 onwards support eSIM — including iPhone XS and later, Google Pixel 3 and later, and Samsung Galaxy S20 and later. You also need your phone to be unlocked (not carrier-locked to your home country network). Check in your phone settings under "Carrier" or "SIM".
When to activate: Buy the eSIM before you travel. Activate it a few hours before landing so it's ready the moment you step off the plane. You can keep your home SIM active simultaneously for calls home.
Getting a local permanent SIM: For your permanent local number (you'll need one for bank accounts and university admin), get a local SIM within 2–3 days of arrival. The eSIM bridges the gap until then.
Health Requirements
Do You Need a Health Check or Vaccination Before You Travel?
